At age 17, David Perez left his home in the Northeast to spend a summer in Nashville parking cars at the old Ryman Auditorium. Decades later, he is back in Music City leading a church in three important tasks: Growing Faith, Giving Hope and Spreading Love.
hopepark's new lead pastor enjoys the creativity and vitality of Nashville - he's an award-winning filmmaker himself. Under his leadership the church continues to tap into the city's creative talent pool to accomplish those tasks. Its compassion and social justice efforts are expanding with new ventures in Nashville and beyond. But David is quick to state that the methods are just the means; the focus remains on the mission to reach the community, the city, the nation and the world with the faith, hope and love of Christ.
David and wife Liz have traveled the world, worked with college students, worked with singles at Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, and founded and pastored a church in Colorado… until the journey led them to Nashville in 2007. The Perezes and their two young children are now firmly planted in the work God is doing at hopepark church - embodied in its three goals: Grow Faith, Give Hope, Spread Love.
